Sep 15, 2001 - South Sound Speedway
Our final race of the season, and the #30 ZNETIX Chevrolet Monte Carlo, to be driven by Angela, unfortunately, was not race ready by the time the green flag was thrown due to mechanical problems.
Amber, on the other hand, was in charge of the #35 car and started the race based upon points earned throughout the season at South Sound Speedway. Amber raced a total of three races as South Sound Speedway and today, started 9th on the starting grid.
Amber drove a very strong and aggressive race. By lap 27, she had moved her ZNETIX Chevrolet Monte Carlo into 2nd place, trying to chase down the leader, Wes Rhodes in the #6 car. There were numerous yellow flags throughout the race. On re-starts, the leader, Wes Rhodes, and experienced race car driver, was able to put some distance between himself and Amber, but as the laps wound down, Amber was able to close the gap on the #6 car. At the finish of the race, Amber was on the rear bumper of the leader taking home a 2nd Place finish, her best finish of the season.
