May 04, 2002 - South Sound Speedway

Our first race of the season, and the TRANS TECH ELECTRIC, INC. #35 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Angela, qualifies 12th with a 15.34 and the MILGARD MANUFACTURING, INC. #30 car driven by Amber, qualifies with a 15.30, 4/10's off the leader and starting in the 4th position with a field of 17 cars for the first 50 lap main.

Both girls started off strong, but after a few laps, the #30 MILGARD car was overheating and kicking oil out of the breather tank and unfortunately, had to park the car in the first heat. Angela, meanwhile, in the #35 TRANS TECH ELECTRIC car, was doing a great job in moving up through the field. The TRANS TECH car was in 6th with 20 laps to go under the yellow on a restart. Angela, trying to make a move, on a lapped car, drove in to deep and pushed up into another car, cutting down her right front tire and ending a good run on the first 50 lap main.

The second 50 lap main event was to start with both cars in the back of the field. Both Amber and Angela new that they had to drive the cars harder to try and move up. Immediately they started making progress, by lap 15, Angela was in 7th and Amber in 9th. Shortly after, Amber had to bring the #30 MILGARD MANUFACTURING Chevrolet Monte Carlo to the pits again for leaking oil. Angela, on the restart continued to drive the TRANS TECH ELECTRIC car to a 7th place finish for the evening.
