Jun 08, 2002 - South Sound Speedway

The race started out great for both girls. Amber qualified her MILGARD MANUFACTURING Chevrolet Monte Carlo in the 4th spot. Angela held the pole position for a little while until Tom Sweatman bumped her back to 2nd place. Starting the first 50 lap main event, both Amber and Angela had good starting positions. When the green flag dropped, Amber dropped into position with Angela on her bumper. On lap 18, Amber is spun putting her in the back of the field, meanwhile, Angela continued moving her TRANS TECH ELECTRIC Chevrolet Monte Carlo up into 2nd place. Then came a caution to bunch the field up with ten laps to go. Angela was ready for the restart behind Eric Tibbits in the #5 car. Coming out of turn 4, Angela errored by putting the throttle down to hard in third gear and turned the car around ending her great run in the first heat. Amber, who was back in 14th, continued to move her MILGARD MANUFACTURING car up to fifth place by the end of the first heat.

Starting the second race, Amber found herself starting on the front row in the pole position and Angela was back deep in the field in 11th. Immediately, Amber put her MILGARD MANUFACTURING car in front staying in front of the field until lap 47, when Roger Drake in the #8 car caught up to her. On lap 48, with the white flag coming out, Amber's car pushed up in turn 4 and then the #8 car tried to get under her, but instead drove into her left rear quarter panel sending her spinning and ending her chance at her first victory. Angela meanwhile, drove a conservative race moving up to take a fifth place finish.
